The New Year brings a lot of new wishes and new features, along with updates in different aspects of Human life. Mobile phone is one of the must have devices in today’s world, and also a technology which is updating almost every day. Many top mobile makers have launched their new sets in 2010 (some were launched in CTIA) and many more coming soon. Android running devices are most popular lately for its ease of use, flexibility and enhanced features. The big giants like Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, LG, Nokia, HTC etc are trying to grab the growing market of mobile users by releasing new model next generation mobiles.

Google Nexus One will be on top of list with flexible features, sleek & streamlined outlook and classy user interface. The Nexus one comes with a 3.7 inch widescreen WVGA AMOLED Display, featuring 800 x 480 resolutions which offers a crisp display performance except poor visibility in daylight or any other bright light. Google Nexus One does good work with its camera on the rear, which is packed with 5 MP Autofocus lens and LED flash, give pretty decent performance on picture or while shooting 720 x 480 resolutions video at 20 frames per second. It runs on Android 2.1 operating system, enriched with 512 MB RAM & Qualcomm QSD 8250 1 GHz processor which makes it easier for program execution or playing games. Connectivity is never better using this phone; it has nearly all type of connecting technology including Wi-Fi (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.1, HSDPA, HSUPA, GSM, EDGE etc. The pricing is $529.99 for an unlocked nexus one, which is available for only $179.99 through an exclusive contact with AT & T.

motorola droid  Mobile Phones of 2010
Motorola is not an established name in the smartphone making industry, which has changed after it introduced Motorola Droid, one of best in its genre, comparable with Apple iPhone. The build and looks of Droid is ravishing unlike any other smartphone or Android running device, combining with metal & plastic, it gives quite sturdy built. The Motorola Droid offers a 3.7 inch WVGA display with 854 x 480 resolutions. The slider design, easy navigation and Android 2.0 give the user an excellent performance while using the mobile for browsing or display device. Droid is powered by Arm® Cortex™ A8 processor 550 mHz which is strong enough to use the mobile for multitasking or HD video watching. Typing in the QWERTY keyboard is a good experience which enhances its usability. Its 5 Mp Camera on the rear is well performing in the bright day light, but lacks in the night & dark places. Priced around $599 Motorola Droid is one of the best phones that technology can offer till today.

htc evo  Mobile Phones of 2010
HTC Evo 4G is the first mobile phone to bring 4G technology, which is almost like HTC HD2 with some upgraded features. It has large 4.3 inch wide display, bigger than most of the series which offers many unparallel features. It comes with 2 cameras, one 8 MP Autofocus camera on the rear capable of shooting video in HD clarity and one 1.3 MP Front facing camera for video calling, making the 4G service into reality. HTC Evo 4G runs on Android 2.1 operating system with its own Sense UI, combination of which is considered the best till now. It will be running on 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, same like Google Nexus One, 1 GB ROM & 512 MB RAM, giving together a power packed performance. HTC Evo 4G will be using WiMax to deliver 4G performance, which can override 3G & 4G mobile hotspots while giving 10x data transfer speed comparing with the present 3G technology. HTC Evo 4G offers all the connectivity solution available to use along with 4G technology, but surprisingly lacks Bluetooth 3.0. Evo 4G is scheduled to launch at CTIA 2010, price of mobile or plan is not announced from HTC officially.

xperia x10  Mobile Phones of 2010
Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is the first mobile from Sony Ericssion running Android Operating system, unlike its predecessors of X1, X2 etc which was running on Windows Mobile Operating System. It comes with a 4 inch WVGA display of 480 x 854 resolutions, vivid enough to use in bright sunlight. The camera has always been one of the main attractions of Sony Ericssion mobiles, keeping the tradition Xperia X10 is packed with 8.1 Megapixel autofocus camera with some unmatchable features inbuilt inside. Music and entertainment is always at its best in Sony Ericssion with superb bass effects and advanced 3D gaming. The Android overlay of Sony Ericssion Xperia X10 with Timescape and Mediascape enhanced the experience with its user interface. The connectivity of the Xperia X10 is not at the best which lacks upgraded USB support or Full GPRS control. With some power packed multimedia performance Sony Ericssion Xperia X10 is a good combination of flexibility & details.

samsung wave  Mobile Phones of 2010
Samsung Wave, world’s first DivX HD phone, has begun a new era of HD video processing with it. The phone runs on a new platform named Bada which is specially made for supporting DivX video encoding along with other features. The display offers a 3.3 inch WVGA screen with Super OMLED Display at 15 million pixel color depth, making it suitable for enjoying video in true HD clarity. The 5 MP Autofocus camera with LED flash is capable of shooting 1280 x 720p HD quality video, first of its kind. Connectivity solution offered is adequate featuring upgraded Bluetooth 3.0 and other features. The
Samsung Wave or Samsung G8500 comes with Accelerator Sensor, Proximity Sensor & G sensor which increase the user experience by quite a leap. The Samsung Wave offers a difference set of details than most of the touch phones with enhanced multimedia performance and different operating system.

vivaz  Mobile Phones of 2010
Sony Ericssion Vivaz is one of the best HD video recording capable devices out there and offers great performance among its genre. The Phone is bundled with 8.1 MP Autofocus webcam which offers 720p HD video recording capability. One of the discouraging facts about Sony Ericsson Vivaz is the display which has only 3.2 inch TFT screen featuring 640 x 320 pixel resolutions. The phone has better ergonomics to fit well in palm but lacks some important features which would have made it all round set. The phone resembles Sony Ericssion Satio only with shorter dimension to fit into pocket well enough. The operating system running is Symbian OS which is considered backdated regarding the fact that Android is out there and its successor Sony Ericssion Xperia X10 is using the upgraded version of Android. This mobile offers a good performance in multimedia capabilities but lacks in many fields with poor software, backdated UI and limited storage capacity. Sony Ericssion Vivaz is suitable for fancy use, power features is absent in this phone making it a bad choice for smartphone users.

htc desire  Mobile Phones of 2010
HTC Desire running the most advanced operating system Android 2.1 resembles Google Nexus One in some part of its features. It provides a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen with pinch-to-zoom capability which features 480 x 800 WXGA resolutions. HTC Desire offers better processing power than Nexus one with same sleek round age display outlook. There is a 5 MP camera on the rear with autofocus & LED flash, capable of Shooting HD clarity videos, DivX support will be added shortly into the device, according to HTC personnel. HTC desire along with its Android Operating system offers easy navigation with its unique Sense UI, which ease user experience and enable better accessibility. HTC Desire will be launching officially in UK in late April, though pricing of the mobile or the data plan is yet to be announced by HTC.

preplus  Mobile Phones of 2010
Palm Pre Plus is the newer version of its palm pre with some minor hardware changes, revamped keyboard and slightly changed user Interface. Palm Pre Plus contains 3.1 inch multi touch screen with 320×480 resolution HVGA display which is not a good experience in broad daylight. There is a 3 MP camera on the rear with LED flash for amateur video capture, lacks HD quality recording or detailed photography. The palm Pre Plus will be coming up with Verizon, with different data plans and connectivity solution. Palm Pre Plus is running on WebOS in its smartphone platform, which has some unique applications like Hotspot Tethering very handy in using Mobile Hotspots. Palm has increased its memory and RAM than previous version, which may come handy while multitasking. The Palm Pre Plus will be available for $150 with two years Verizon contacts and their data plans, which is expensive while accessing hotspot from mobile.

There will be close competition between these phones, everyone trying to suppress others with its unique features. The features any model lacks today will be upgraded via firmware upgrade or model upgrade on the times to come, but on the long run, Google Nexus One, HTC EVO 4G & Motorola Droid is best in their respective categories leaving the others trailing behind a little.
